I'm finishing a Cape George 38 and our family can't wait to launch and see what's out there... We've named her "Curious George".

THere was an English channel race with a 'sexy black knickers' talking to 'foreplay'
Apparently (so the story goes) 'Sexy black knickers' ran aground and was pulled off.

I have always wanted to name a boat 'What'

imagine the fun on the radio!

'what is the name of your vessel?'

'yes it is'

'I repeat, what is the name of your vessel?

'yes it is'

etc etc

That reminds me of the transcript of radio conversation recorded 10/10/95:

Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.

Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We ar eaccompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that's one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

speakeasy, Yuk, Yuk. An old joke never recorded at anytime and would never happen. An OOD would use the radio and a ships navigator makes up a list of lights that will, or their loom may be seen during the night and it is included with the captains night orders for the night watches, read by CIC, OOD's, JOOD's and given to lookouts. Naval ships never navigate towards lighthouses.

Keep trying

Joe S: I am totally retrofitting a 1973 38' Nauticat pilothouse. The outisde is basically completed, so I am moving inside. I purchased a "new" 160 gpd Aqua Marine water maker, sans the membrane vessel and installation instructions, from a fellow in Georgia that had the "dream", but came down with cancer, so he had to change his plans. I have tried to contact Dan, the owner of the Aqua Marine company via phone and email, but have been ignored. Apparently, he will not deal with you if you did not purchase the Aqua Marine system from him. I would pay for your time, costs, and a premium if you could copy the installation instructions for your system. Thanks. Steve
