Y'all might be interested in this new concept of a helicopter aircraft carrier in disguise.

Re: Canadian Aircraft Carrier

Kind of limited range on that model, not too well suited for warm climates, although refrigeration and air conditioning become a non issue.

Hey, we're working with a limited budget and our dollar is only worth 87 cents! We have to get creative!

Re: Canadian Aircraft Carrier

I see canadian navy budget restraints were in place on that aircraft carrier (no oars).

Re: Canadian Aircraft Carrier

LOL...my dad served on the "Maggie".....the Magnificent....it may well have been our very last aircraft carrier.....

He used to tell stories about all the time he spent in the brig.....dad was a wee bit of a character...I guess on this "new model" cooling off would take on a whole new meaning

Further internet search shows the Bonnie, or Bonaventure, replaced the Maggie...my apologies for any misinformation....

Oars? They are so old fashioned. We now use paddles, modeled after ducks feet.

Re: Canadian Aircraft Carrier

During WWII Churchill, who sponsored a few good and some crank ideas, supported building artificial landing strips made from ice. The idea was to set up floating freezer plants to create the strips. He never got to actually try the idea.

Look up Pyecrete, probably would have worked well, maybe not in South Pacific though
