Can You Believe It? 8 Kts!

At our Marina Wedding, we were suprised by the Fireboat, stopping by to give us a Salute.
Talking to the friend who was driving the boat, he told me, with all cannons facing aft, they will move the boat at 8 kts! Amazing.

Sounds like fireworks in the day time. Quite the show.

what a cool surprise! I have some great old Kodaks of a fireboat in New York with the statue of liberty in the background.

Just a guess, but I imagine they have one or two hellaciously powerful pumps sucking it out of the river just as fast as they're shooting it out the water cannons.

Tao...CaptainJeff is on to me...I was just going to make my case for
large water tanks! That being...If it were pumps they would be
sitting on a dry riverbed by now!!!
Having seen similiar pumps up close while in the navy, they are
truly awesome...especially when they use them as a wedding salute
instead of having to fight a fire.
