Boatsitting

yesterday I talked to the owner of a Morgan60, s/v Dutchess, who asked me to "boatsit" December and January ...

well, December is OK, but January and February I have another boat, Psipsina, a Privilege48 (both boats will be at anchor in Spanish Water) ...

but when on the cat, I can keep an eye on Dutchess in January ...
Dutchess owner and I talked about boat & technical details, but when I started talking "business" he began to stutter ...

"I th-th-th-thought you liked doing it" he said ...
"Oh yes, I love it, but this is going to be business ...
I don't know you (only by face and name) and the other times I did it for friends" (and of course because I loved doing it) ...
half the $$$ in advance, the other half in the end" ...

and then to think I'm not a business woman ...

he agreed (I knew he had no choice ) ...
done deal anyway ...

Psipsina agreed on the money right away ...
it's always cheaper to put me on the boat, than to put the boat on the hard or in a marina ...

or leaving a boat unattended that long??

March and April I'll be in the Netherlands again (I'm also going early November, then for 3 weeks) ...
in March and April my daughter and daughter-in-law are having babies ...

so:
now my house is empty for 5!! months and am I looking for a housesitter ...
anybody??

As the owners of the 83 USCG documented vessels with Duchess in the vessel's name could tell the 28 other vessel owners (and the owner of the vessel beachgirl1952 is doing business with) who have Dutchess in their vessel's name, there is no "t" in Duchess. Just sayin'.

American-English ahahhahaha ...
