Boat that Ran Aground...

I was out at the park today and saw a sailboat that had run aground. Well, I live on a "river" that's actually a lagoon between me and the Kennedy Space Center, and it was stuck a few hundred feet out into the water, sitting somewhat sideways.

There was only a few inches of water there.

I was wondering, since it was in a spot where it had to have been placed accidentally, how would somebody get it out of a bind like that?

time to kedge out an anchor.... very normal... and its said, there are only two types of people.. those that have run agroung and those that lie about it..
The simple fix is to unload you dink and carry an anchor out into deeper water and when the tide comes in, start pulling yourself free..............

It all depends on the circumstances on which it got there. If it floated there at high tide, it can float off at any higher high tide. If the muck is soft enough, enough force may simply pull it out at hight tide if it's almost floating then.

I've been grounded twice. Once a power boat "kedged" me off. The other time I floated off 20 minutes later with the rising tide.
