best sailing movies
hi guys. this is not for training movies or instructionals but actual movies i think my favorite is captain ron. with kurt russel what do you guys think? your favorites?

I second that. Captain Ron is a classic! Although when I encourage my wife by saying: "If you want to be promoted from Swab, to Mate you gotta"... She still doesn't see the humor in it. M.

Yep, that was my first thread question back in October last year. I got some great suggestions and enjoyed them all.

I don't think it hurts to revisit the issue from time to time.

I enjoyed Dove, Captains Courageous, Dead Calm, and Wind the best I suppose. These are the ones I recall from my feeble memory.

"Deep Water." Documentary about the 1968 Vendee Globe in which Moitessier, Knox-Johnston, Chay Blythe, Don Crowhurst, etc. competed. Stunningly well-done.
