Anyone Have a Cat in Charter?

I am seriously thinking of buying a catamaran to place in charter.

The reasons? Same as many I suppose.

I cannot afford the boat I want and am willing to have the charter help pay for it. I also will not have time to use the boat much for the next couple of years and I do so want to spend some time on it between now and then.

And many more.

How “active” is active participation in chartering? You change the oil?
Which company? We name boats and products – what about the company?
Why?
How did you pick it?

I think the best way would be to visit the company, write down boat ID, research and then call the owners. I don’t think I can do that.

If you have a boat in charter I would be interested in the reality that is yours.

If you do not and only have the info from your “cousin” etc. then please say so, so I can use my salt.

Thank you.

PS yes I have read all or almost all of this and lots and lots and lots more.

I finished 6 years in charter this time last year. I'll give you chapter and verse shortly. Absolutely exhausted today after a crewed charter and can't focus on the screen at the moment!

While I am still interested in details, I ended up buying a Gemini in April. I just couldn't wait any longer to have a little fun.

If it does not work out then I suppose I could put the Gemini in charter. Hope not though.
