Re: Another young lady circumnavigates

Is the plane on loan or donated by Pilatus (as the company is having an experienced pilot along as part of the crew)? Certainly the $4.6 million price tag is a little out of my ball park.

You bet, more leg room, better food, no waiting to use the head, better airport experience, your own schedule, something interesting to do once and a while etc.. Way better than an airliner for someone who can fly.
I was not suggesting she is solo but just circumnavigating.

Your plane fits your needs at about 1/25 the price. You have a Husky, right?

Her flight just came on the local (for me) Sacramento CBS affiliate and the theme of the story was to wake up the professional aviation industry to the fact that women only make up 5% of employed pilots. I didn't know that, good message.

Is a good way to get free flying on something you probably could never afford. The last plane I had was a Varieze and if I did some low passes over Burt Rutan's house, I could sell my story to the media. Then low passes goes against everything I've been spruking on this forum.

Right. Actually I can see the flight as a promotional for professional women pilots, rather like the Ninety-Nines founded by the original Amelia Earhart.
