And you thought sharks were scary...

Here's an article that should make your blood run cold... a book review by Tim Flannery, one of my personal heroes.

More threatening than teen-age mutant zombies or the poo police...

Read it and tremble.

Jim

Re: And you thought sharks were scary...

Seems like all of us must follow the Asian example and learn to eat them.

Scary. I watched a doc about Irukandji once, and both researchers were stung. The footage of them in their hospital beds was horrifying. They were catching them for research, full suits with tape seals. Both were stung anyway....

I saw that same show. Those particular ones in OZ are tiny and among the most venomous animals in the world, maybe the most venomous because they administer such a small dose. The crazy thing is sometimes they are there and then they all leave. Where do they go?

Last time I was home my (then 7 yo) grandson couldn't wait to they me about them! I think he learned about in on a TV show called River Monsters.

Re: And you thought sharks were scary...

This is that show. It looks like an Ozzie production and I think we saw it on The Discovery Channel here in the states. All the parts are on YouTube. We were wrong about the sting. He got stung on his lip which was exposed skin and she got stung when a broken tentacle brushed her exposed wrist. Eye opening footage of them in the hospital. You ozzies are tough!
