in any case, what's it got to do with climate data?

The warmth has been going where it's most needed ... Canada! So far this winter is kinda cool though. Someday Floridians may be called snowbirds. More likely that they will be call fish, given how low much of the land is.

And whom do you believe? Al Gore announced about 2 weeks ago that ethanol in gasoline, of which he was a strong supporter, was a bad policy. He stated that he only took a supporting possition to get votes.

So we have been suffering with e-10 (soon to be e-15) and all of its expense for no reason at all.

I give him credit for this admission--that took some guts--but it does make him something less than an oracle standing safely on moral high ground.

U.S. corn ethanol was not a good policy: Gore | Reuters

I noted this year that the Farmer's Almanac predicted below average July temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic, but apparently no one else noticed that. It's a logical fallacy called counting the hits, not the misses. In any case, the Almanac's methodology is meterological voodoo.

... or, as my paw used to say "even a stopped clock is right twice a day"

Research|Penn State: Is the Farmers' Almanac accurate?

Methinks you may be confused.

When did the United Nations ever award a Human Rights prize to any Nation (Cuba, China, or other)?
Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights / OHCHR Welcome page

From Wikipedia:
“The United Nations Prizes in the Field of Human Rights were instituted by United Nations General Assembly resolution 2217 in 1966. They are intended to "honour and commend people and organizations which have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion and protection of the human rights embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in other United Nations human rights instruments".
They were first awarded in 1968, and they have been given out at five-year intervals since then...”
