American Boat Listing

I'm suddenly receiving emails from ablboats.com regarding responses to my "listing". Not having "listed" anything recently with anyone, and having never heard of American Boat Listing I'm curious is anyone else ont he board has? Is this a scam?

I would say that it is a SCAM. Be cautious.

my ablboats experience

I've listed my boat with ablboats after i spoke with someone there and they bisically convinced me that they had people interested in my model of boat, and that i'm sure to get some responce from people that they would forward the information to. Well i listed the boat and have not had a single legit responce the only responces i got were scams..... maybe i'm unlucky....but i'd be carefull

My memory could be off, but I *think* when ABL started out they made a big ruckus and promised folks free sail covers if they'd sign up just to look...and nothing ever came of it. I just have a "wash your hands, count your fingers" association with the name.

Lovinlife, you are correct, the price to list a boat now is $499, sliding scale? The salesman told me he had three buyers waiting to buy my boat at 20% more than I am asking, just give me your credit card number......he even said the sale amount would be in my account before the credit card bill arrived. Cute pitch, I'll go with a broker before them.

Oh boy...after reading your posts and the link Gord May posted it's clear they are scamming people out of their money.

Sorry you lost such a large amount of money to them. They should be prosecuted and punished.

I'll post this info to the Wooden Boat Forum, so others will not fall for ablboats.com scam...

Thanks for posting this...

Positive Experience with ABL

Frankly i'm surprised to read all the negative posts about ABL.I sold a 1987 Endeavour 42 C through them.Maybe I was lucky but I felt obligated to provide a different perspective since they did sell my boat.

SailorDan;
Since you are new here, and only posted to defend this company, please tell us about yourself. Some of the more cautious here might jump to the conclusion that you are cahoots with them, but of course that might not be the case!

I have often looked at boats on ABLboats, but have almost never seen postings updated. Reading about a new bottom job that was written three years ago does not inspire confidence. In addition there is no way to look at just the new boats so looking for a boat there wastes a lot of time.
