I was amused overhearing this conversation, however it's a bit serious drama. How bad does it get?

Considering the depth of detail in your post: I agree. It will also melt your mast and, believe it or not, and this is truth, your keel bolts have also melted and your keel has probably been deep sixed.

Buy a new boat.
