Re: You Might Be a Liveaboard - if . . .

YMBALI (on a small boat) you consider the weight of the item along with its potential usefulness prior to bringing it home -- even if it's free
YMBALI you'd love to own an ebook reader (one that draws little power) not just for the enlarged font capabilities but also to allow more books without the additional waterline issues. [this is so me!!!]

YMBALI you see a fellow taking down his mast to replace the wiring and think "I could use 25' that for some new galley outlets" (and he gives it all to you)

YMBALI you visit folks on land and wonder at the sheer number of possessions they are responsible for, and are thankful for your tiny tidy home afloat.

Buying a book involves a tape measure, and deep thought as to "do I really need this and/or what books can it replace to make space".

And yes, I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

That's funny! We do have an insulated lunch bag- it holds a a paper bag that holds the plastic store bags for trash. I still use the store bag for my lunch (thus the trash mix) but so far I haven't tossed the lunch away. It also works to hold & shake the dominoes for Mexican Train until I make a bag someday. Nothing has a single duty.

YMBAL if you have a rope by your bed and it is used to practice sailing knots, not for tying up your partner

(Thanks everyone for their contributions here, I've have had a good laugh this morning reading through them. Scary just how many actually apply!)

Re: You Might Be a Liveaboard - if . . .

I woke up this morning and noticed my dinghy was limp!

You might be a liveaboard if you judge the temperature by noting how flaccid are the bladders of your RBI.

YMBALA...If you spend a lot of time in the dockside bathroom during winter......not because you have to go the bathroom, but only because it is the warmest spot in the marina..

YMBALI you carry a disposable razor in your coat pocket and are used to shaving with the "dispenser soap" in public bathrooms
