This might be a "set up", but I'll bite. So, where do you row to in order to find out if your anchor is set?

Re: You Might Be a Liveaboard, if . . .

You try to pump the toilet while visiting friends
You ride a bike to the shower
During your northern winter you store your ice cream on deck
Your good shoes are a nice new pair of flip flops
You practice yoga on the dock to the tune of your neighbour’s sander
Every two years you have to take e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g out of your home and pile it on the dock so that you can spray for roaches
The cakes you bake are a lot thicker at one end than the other
The back seat of your car has a shop vac, a jib sail, a roll of electrical wire and 15 empty water bottles for refilling
You keep your vegetables under your salon seat

... your slip neighbor gives you that condescending sneer without ever acknowledging how you saved his behind by adding proper springs to his Wal-Mart special clothes-line mooring plan ahead of the last hurricane.

YMBALI- You think of 40 degree water as "insulation".

YMBALI- You actually DO have bananas onboard your boat!

YMBALI- You plan your vacations away from "home" based on when you want to get your bottom painted.

How true! We had friends who asked us to house-sit once a year when they went on vacation, and we'd time our haulouts to coincide.
