You know you are a liveaboard when you put on weather gear">foul weather gear to go take a shower.

You can go swimming 2 feet from where you sleep.

But don't try that in a marina slip! Yikes.

You might be a liveaboard if you wonder why landlubbers wonder why you are so happy. If you are lucky you can portray some sort of enviable mystique , though they are still clueless.

You might be a live aboard if, when at anchor, suddenly on a weekend your home gets turned into a downwind marker and 100 Optimists with 6 year old crews come charging towards you missing your boat by millimeters and sending your womanfolk into the bilge screaming!

You might be a liveaboard if you find strangers cleaning fish just out side your "front door". (first day of halibut season some guy was cleaning a 132 and 74lb halibut on the dock next to my boat.)

You might be a liveaboard if you have "dock parties" instead of "barbecues" or "block parties".

You might be a live aboard if...your out of town visitors are shocked to find out that your "guest cabin" not only isn't a separate building but is a cubbyhole considerably smaller than just one of their walk in closets (actually your main cabin is smaller than one of their walk in closets) .

If you are not homeless but look it dumpsterdiving for good used parts in the marina.

If water-weld putty is your answer for fixing every leak.

LOL!!! We did that this afternoon!

You might be a liveaboard if:
- You use a caribou coffee mug to brew your coffee, and you share your mug 'cos there's only one.
- You buy ice cream in half-litre containers
a) because the fit into corners better
b) because you need them for storage since tupperware lids never stay on.
- Your guests thinks it weird you use a dish brush to clean the head.
- If you lose your kitchen scissors you look in the engine room.

You might be a live aboard if;

you get a sudden influx of company when you are anchored in exotic places.

"Are you still in the Keys? We were planning on dropping by for a week or two around Christmas. It was sure nice last year, thought we would do it again. See you then!"

Hotel room in the Keys...... $250 a night,
Stateroom aboard 60 foot catamaran..........$0
Food................. chip in a bit once in a while........$few
"Let's go here, let's go there, Hey, who left the shower running, we're out of water. Who's making the beer run? I can't start the dink! Don't forget to get more water! Is the ice maker broken again? Who is going to unclog the head? How do we turn this radar thingy off, it's making a funny sound. Why is that Coast Guard guy pointing a gun at us? Where's Ralph? Hey, anybody seen Ralph? How'd he get on the Coast Guard boat? " Priceless!

Hey Mary, there's water in the basement!

You mean to say that you DON'T feel the need to run away when charged by a giant pack of grade-schoolers?

OK, here's a few more--you might be a liveaboard cruiser if

1. If you have read 150 paperbacks in the last year, and haven't bought any of them.
2. If you buy ice cream in square containers to be later used for mixing epoxy.
3. Your winter wardrobe consists of 10 white t-shirts and 5 bathing suits.
