Hard to believe a RV in a RV park wouldn't be cheaper.

RV parks in the bay area range from 40 to 80 bucks a night. One night.

My guess is if you are downsizing to an RV and you are the least bit clever you are parking on quiet streets and moving often enough to not bother anyone.

A friend has a habitual RV dweller on her street who occasionally gets hassled by the neighbours when he stays for to long at a time.

I have a friend who has been living in a trailer towed by his truck for years. Sometimes he finds a cheap place to park for say 250 a month, but often he is shifting around. He likes to park near parks so he can run and enjoy being outdoors.

Himself lives aboard alot, usually 5 or 6 nights a week. But we have 2 boats so with 3 days each he is ok.

I sleep snug and tight in the v-berth with him when I am there, one or two nights a week. But life is complicated and not everyone at the house fits on the boat. Hence the boat and the house. That way there is room for everyone somewhere!

Besides when he gets cranky I let him stew in his ole juices 'til he is done enough to proffer a nice apology ; -)

That newspaper article incorrectly states that property taxes are avoided by living on a boat versus a house. Boats in California are subject to property taxes same as land homes.

Got it! Isn't there a women's club or something that this is part of (where's Zee)? When is Himself (still cracks me up after all this time) going to join CF? We need to talk to him some.

A house on a boat and a sailboat anchored nearby. That is something to work for.

While most of the boats in the video looked well kept one towards the end of the story looked like a floating yard sale with coolers and chairs etc taking up all the deck space, these are the type of folks who should stay on land as they ruin things for everyone else. Many marinas have "no liveaboard" policies because of this type of behavior.
