Then you'll miss out meeting a really decent couple! After Superstorm Sandy took nearly everything I had, *ONLY* Delancy reached out to me by PM on this Forum to offer friendly support. A really decent gesture just when I thought no one gave a damn. Great folks whom YOU'D be fortunate to cross wakes with IMO/E.

Ironman,

Do let us know your cruising grounds so that we might avoid them.

I'm guessing that you missed the iconic sarcasm here !

Take my advice avoid the friendly ones like the plague even if they are pretty! Even more so!
Sail away and consider yourself fortunate that you survived yet another onslaught. They all out there to g5rt us.. waiting! .. with their cute little ways...
At least I hope that was sarcasm

Keep an eye out for someone dragging anchor and coming to you.

Y'all be careful, hear? This forum and the ocean wouldn't be the same without your witty repartee. Aw hell, I'm not about to give advice to someone like you. Good luck to you and all around you.

Most likely for the same reason that the residents of Munich consider themselves Bavarians and not Germans.

That probably didn't help though.

To the OP:

Wherever you are.

Make friends.

Kinda like asking "What's the best neighborhood to move into?'

Duh...

Sardinia is in itself a quite different place, with different history, and the people are generally staunchly independent of the mainland. Similar to Corsica. Both islands have their own flag, which may or may not be flown with the Italian/French flag.
Would visit both islands again in a flash - lovely places and people, but please don't call them Italian of French - most would be offended.

Many places have fantastic people. But you must get everywhere yourself and find how well they fit YOUR idea of fantastickness ...

Cultural identity makes this world interesting.

Language, tradition, beliefs, habits.... all are best preserved into an island, or in specific geographical contours.

Can you imagine!? It works even in La Belgique, Belgium, split into two factions since centuries.

Life as it gets.

Re: Where are all the beautiful people?

Beautiful People are those you don't expect to be!
Those who have less than you, and share.
Those giving at no demand
Those helping at a smile
No corrupted thinking, no envy..

Possibly, not necessarily those stepping off "too beautiful ships" :-)

Let us think of the Med.... since 3000BC people ashore are used to see incoming boats with a mix of fear (who?) and expectancy (why!? Trade? Offers? Options..)

You don't eradicate a millennial mindset, not even with tv or else alike..
