When Do You Shower?

Three guys on a 2 week cruise on the Chesapeake..
When we got back and my wife picked us up she said I "smelled like a goat." Drove home with the windows open and the AC off.
She was being way too sensitive. Didn't bother the three of us guys

I recall sailing for eleven days straight once in roughish weather. Too hard to have a shower. On the eleventh day, the other guy with me noted the length of time between showers and also noted that we didn't really smell that bad. We agreed the ability to go so long between showers must be a boy thing.

It's more a parity thing so long as you don't smell worse than the other person (or at least think so).

Funny, my captains (male and female) were suspicious of my claims of a 2 cup shower too, why is that? I even think they might of thought I had a stash somewhere, has everyone been burned one too many times by a water hog?

since I can't pass up a chance to show off my thriftiness with water, I'll explain (sorry no video coming)

After your salt water bath ring out your hair very well, squeegee the salt water as best as possible from your body, then take your precious 2 cups of water, lean over a bucket and pour over the hair first ( I do this twice due to my long hair), then take the recycled water and sop it up with a wash cloth, rinse areas as needed. Now you see "it can be done!". Feel free to try it, be sure to video it to demonstrate to the CF crowd that you too can take a shower with 2 cups of water

When we were out on 2 week trips, we wouldn't shower until on the way into port, and once the first person showered, the rest of us would notice how ripe we were and there was a fight to see who would get into the rain locker next.

Here we are, 40 years after leaving Earth and landing on the Moon and we still cant dehydrate water.

Can you imagin how useful it would be to buy dried water in a packet and just add........water to bulk up the volume.

I replumbed my shower sump pump through a two-way valve. One side goes overboard as normal, the other goes to a second shower head. When I run a gallon of fresh water into the sump I switch over to the second shower head and have as long a shower as I want.

1. While half of the world population has no clean water to drink, we have this cheerful discussion about our "absolute need" to have on, two or more showers a day. I wished our thirsty brothers and sisters could join our happy discussion.
2. On our ships some of us make our own sweet water or we get it from a processing plant that draws water from a renewable source, but fact is that in many places we shower with water that is drawn from centuries-old aquafiers and that we should be a lot more careful with.
