Re: What's a typical morning at anchorage like?

This is one of the major changes we've found being out now. When we went out in the 90s we had our 12 year old daughter with us and so school defined our mornings. I did school with our daughter while the captain fixed the boat. Now we both do boat projects without the structure school gave us. We miss it. Any one have a 12 year odl they want to loan us?

Winter morning boat ritual

Winter morning boat ritual: half early, I consider getting up, but hug under the dooner and sleep for up too another hour or so, I yawn, dog yawns then I get out of bed and have a couple of cups of tea after which I do whatever I feel like on that particular day…,,,,

If I remember, just too prove how hard life is, I will take a photo and post it while I am having my morning cuppas….,,,

Luckily mine doesn’t go to school till next year, so when she is on-board she sleeps in too! The golden rule is nothing happens till dad has at least had his first cup of tea. Then more likely than not, by her demand, it is porridge with honey…,,,

Re: What's a typical morning at anchorage like?

Commercial Lobster boats heading out are my alarm clock. Get up make coffee and usually have a blueberry muffin watching the sunrise. The day consists of two or three swims. Lot's of staring (perhaps too much as some projects still never seem to get started) though I do occassionaly come up with some real good ideas or solutions to various issues. Somewhere in the afternon a nap seems like a good idea. Then another swim and a glass of wine at sundown. If I can see the sunrise and sundown I consider that a good day.

Re: What's a typical morning at anchorage like ?

I notice that most, like us, are up with the sun. This comes easy with early to bed. We don't spend much energy lighting up the dark. Our mornings vary, but today is typical. We're running the generator of a couple hours to charge the batteries; eating breakfast; watching a morning news program and on the internet. Presently, we're anchored near Baltimore. Our mornings on the hook do vary by location.

Like camping, but rocking back and forth and wondering if the laundry you put out last night dried.
