What was that stuff?

At anchor right now in La Playa Cove behind Shelter Island in San Diego Bay. Wind is 25-30, sky is grey. All of a sudden some strange wet stuff fell out of the sky. It is like little droplets of moisture. It lasted about 15 or 20 minutes. I can't figure it out. After all, this is Southern California, what could it be?

Re: What was that stuff?

It's like the third time this week that has happened.

Was there an earthquake that moved us to a different climate zone?

I was coerced into attending a meeting in Marina del Ray a few years ago...rained the whole time I was there!

You may be sailing in the zone where the planes empty their holding tanks.

If it continues for forty days and nights, you may have an issue.

Re: What was that stuff?

It's now Sunday morning in San Diego. That strange condition has disappeared and we are looking at 70-80 degree F. weather and clear skies for the next week. But don't give up hope. May Gray and June Gloom await us. At least that means dry decks in the morning.

Whew!!! This morning is sunny and dry. No more of that strange wet stuff falling. We're back to our normal pleasant drought. Now, where did I put Rich Boren's number?

Greetings Tanyana42,
Forget about that strange wet stuff, you'll be alright when the shock wears off.
More importantly, as a former resident of San Diego, now living in Florida,
I have occasionally bragged to a few folks around here about the incredible Sunday brunches some of the hotels on Shelter and Harbor Islands had in the 70's; never ending champagne with the brunch, not to mention the fantastic food.
Have you heard of them, been to any, can you confirm if they're still happening...?
Lordie, I do miss San Diego at times.

Going to one today at the Bali Hai on Shelter Island. As a former resident of Florida I should have remembered about rain. Life in Southern California makes you forget about East Coast problems.
