Re: What do you do all day?

You mean the bit between when the sleeping ends and when the beer drinking starts ? I'll get back to you.

...............

...........

....

Oh yeah, I'm in the middle of decrapifying the boat and yesterday it was the locker under the quarter berth. I found and trashed two old sail bags and might trash a couple of strange metal thingies - as soon as I figure out what they are. After that I rode my bike to the laundromat and gave two blankets their annual wash. By then it was beer o'clock and I was exhausted anyway.

The day before I traded an adjustable deck broom for a six pack and gave away a cheese grater.

Did that on my last boat. Still recovering, and I sold that boat seven years ago.

New boat has a "wash-down bucket."

Fix the "roof" ( Bimini, awning, hatch cover ...you pick one)

"Grocery" shoping (Hit the reef for a few "lobsta")

Go to the "City" for entertainment (Beach bar, pot luck, any two or more boats in a remote harbor)

Tend the "Garden" (Basil, Rosmary, Oregano plants in pots on the deck)

nothing boring nor wish i were elsewhere kind of lifestyle---why not try it out via chartering for a while to see if you might not get along with this lifestyle.....

Re: What do you do all day?

always something needs to be done on a boat. i do a project a day. also, i spend alot of time cleaning something. the shop vac and generator has made that easier. i spend the evening hours watching movies, a little light reading, and surfing the net, and ofc CF.

Re: What do you do all day?

We were just commenting the other day....why does boat ownership feel like I am rearranging the same closet 8 times? Move the stuff out of the lazzerette into the back bunk...now I need to get into the back bunk...move the stuff to the forward bunk...now I need something in the forward bunk...

We track our projects that we complete on the boat on a service log and every weekend, we are busy with something, then I come home to cross something off the project list, only to find that I was busy all weekend but it doesn't seem to be anything to cross off my list.

Re: What do you do all day?

I get paid to drive someone else's boat hoping one day to be able to drive my own boat for free wherever I want to go.

Re: What do you do all day?

Mark, I love the video, but the camera work made me seasick. Usually there is always something that needs tending to, however I never let that get in the way of coffee and cribbage.

yeah, I know what you mean.
My video camera became incoompatable with Win7, or one of them anyway, so I couldnt edit on my PC anymore. So I needed to design a way to make videos without editing them.
The design is similar to Blair Witch Project.
They are done in one shot, in one take.

But, yeah, the drawback is some bad bits that should be clipped in edit. But if I knew I could edit it I would do them differently! LOL

Yeah !!--you noticed that did you. Dozens of items, each of which will only fit in one location. It's like--we are practicing to develop OCD.
