Let us know what you find. Depending on where you want to
cruise eventually, you'll find
internet at sea to be frustrating ... and that's being kind. Ditto with sat
phone and we've had both
GlobalStar (with which I successfully negotiated a $2M
contract for my prior life company despite several dropped calls) and
Iridium. We have SailMail which is probably the most reliable reasonably priced e-mail, but not
internet. Not sure what you need, but unless you have LOTS more
money than we do, it's not feasible, at least unless you're willing to limit where you
cruise to where you have internet. We have the Verizon 4g
broadband card as well as a Verizon hot spot and that's OK as long as we're in "civilized" along shore
anchorages. Good luck and if you figure out a cost-effective solution, let me know (BTW, I do not think that paying $7 a DAY for
weather via
Iridium sat phone is cost effective ... rather get
weather for Buoyweather and NOAA via SailMail for $275 -or such- annually).
