Volunteer opportunities

We're going to winter in the Caribbean and we're curious about volunteer opportunities. We are both former teachers - history and special ed - but have been in the business world for a loooong time. I help startup companies with their business plans and the admiral is a human resources expert, particularly in the trades.

Helping children learn, coaching new entrepreneurs, helping existing businesses grow, teaching sailing to kids, delivering needed goods, and on and on, would be some things we could do in between enjoying our first winter as liveaboards.

We're planning to spend most of our time this year in the Virgins - US, Brit, Spanish. Leaving Hampton Roads around 11/1 and returning around 5/1. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Back in the early part of the last Decade, Hands on Housing was trying to get started in Antigua. I wonder if the ever got going. I met Jimmy Carter at a party on the island, for the kickoff.

The administration has changed in Antigua since then. I can't find any thing on the net except people offering volunteer tours.

While I was there, I helped build a house for some one in the Bahai.
