Hi StuM; I visited a couple of chandler's today that I have done a fair bit of business with over the past couple of years; one is located within the marina and the other adjacent to the marina. I queried
price changes on their stock since the change in the value of the Canadian Dollar. I was assured there has been no change at all. That being the case, you certainly would be getting about a 30% discount on all
parts purchase at either place of business. I was told prices would only increase on new stock received approximately since the new year. Labour pricing has not changed at all so again, you can discount it by 30% too.
It's no different to Canadians

Washington when our Dollar was worth more than the US Dollar. We shopped for all kinds of products across the border because it was beneficial to do so.
Gasoline in particular has always been cheaper (to buy) in
Washington even with the difference in currency values ... basically because taxation on our gas far exceeds that in the
USA ... we have a high transit fee added per litre in our province to help pay for transit for those who do not have a car.
I personally view this is a ripoff of people like me who has managed my
income to carry me through
retirement. I do not believe I should have to pay for those who choose not to
work, or have frittered their
money away.
