Using small Butane Gas Cylinders as backup to main Gas system

Hello all,

We have a Gas oven / hob in our Hanse 385 which connects to a standard Gas bottle. I was wondering if there's a way to use the small, portable BBQ type, Butane Gas Cylinders as a back to this if the main tank ever runs out? They'd be enough to get us to the next port in oder to refill.

Is the connecter the same? If not has anyone created some kind of converter?

Regards,
Simon

Yes, I carry one in my bag of tricks on deliveries.

I think I got mine at defender.com

Yup, they still have them.

FireBoy - Xintex LPG Propane Gas Disposable Bottle Adapter

Btw, I think you intended to type "propane" not "butane" in the title.... If not, please disregard this post.

I was talking about these, which I use with my portable BBQ.

Force 4 Pack of 4 Butane Gas Cylinders - Only 7.95 - Force 4 Chandlery

It says Butane, will the oven be Propane then?

Am I getting mixed up with my gasses then or is it all the same stuff?
I'm based in the UK not quite sure what I should be searching for now.
