Couldn't agree more. Once you get used to a spray head, you'll wonder why more people aren't using it. Without going into the details, hairy people like myself and people with poor diets benefit the most.

Re: Toilet Paper!

Hey Folks….I have an idea, and I will leave it up to you whether it is weird, wacky, or just plain brilliant.

While I think the Toto Washlett is the "DELUXE" way to go (pun)….

I know that it might not fit everyone's head (toilet) and it might be a little pricy too.

So, here is a more frugal (AKA low cost) and "powerless" manual "green" solution to the "NO TP" approach….

The main component is a garden sprayer, appropriately named "The Eliminator." (This is TRUE, I did NOT make that part up!)

I added a little "NO TP" sticker/sign to make it a little more fun.

Fill this with some warm water and then you would have some of the same effect as the $1,000 automatic toilet seat I mentioned earlier. No electricity required.

And of course this can do "double duty" as a fresh water shower, in boats that do not have pressurized water, but you might want to have a separate one for that.

Have fun y'all!

Possible difficulty spreading cheeks and getting the spray in the right place. Maybe bend the tube? What could possibly go wrong?

P r a c t i c e !

The Toto Washlet is amazing (well designed and functional), and at first it IS "a little surprising shall we say" when first used (the first time). I think the response from anyone (male or female) would likely be a little startled exclamation of "OOOH!"

Followed soon after (and with practice) by an "Ahhhh."

The little gizmo on the Washlet is motorized and squirts in just the right place and it actually has a variety of controls on it (pulse, warmth, speed, etc.).

Using the low cost "NO TP Eliminator" I think the user would learn to adapt and with practice would become a…. "crack shot." (pun again).

Of course this could also lead to all kinds of humor among the crew about who aboard IS the crack shot.

Re: Toilet Paper!

Maybe this is all really some type of fetish and the people that bag their poop paper aren't looking for a solution just a discreet support group.

Re: Toilet Paper!

I think you have to have a Steady Hand to be a Crack Shot!

Joking aside, that might actually work. Keep some paper towels handy to dry with and they can go in the trash bag instead of dirty TP.

A simpler system along those same lines might be to hang a solar shower in the head. No pumping needed. Easy to warm. I like Ann's idea of the bent tube.

For those who really enjoy their head time, Raritan makes a marine toilet with a bidet.

Oh Oh! Better still, take a line off the high pressure side of your water maker and use it like a pressure washer. Ok, I guess we're back to joking.

Yes but how many Amp Hours does it consume per use? What if you are really fat and eat poorly, does the amount of Ah's consumed to clean someone like that off mean you have to sacrifice the auto pilot?

I can see that on some of the bigger "Euro" yachts.

Hard to imagine this thread has gone on for over 80 posts. And it is not even winter ( Northern Hemisphere) when everyone is stuck inside.

Re: Toilet Paper!

I lived in a rented apartment in China that had the Japanese wet and warm ,blows hot air etc computerised toilet and loved it.However have also used the hose or cup method in Asia and for those that espouse its virtue tell me how you dry off.
As for the baggers apart from the thought of that s... Hanging around the boat for weeks I am surprised in USA you are allowed to put human waste in the regular garbage.

What do you think everyone is doing with all of those disposable diapers?

As for any stench, just like a composting toilet, dry sh!t, not mixed with anything doesn't have much of an odor. Most of the odor while someone is going is from the gas escaping with the solids. For the girls, wet toilet paper is going to have more of an odor.
