Titusville marina

I just parked my boat in Titusville marina for a month. I understand that the marina is under new management, a contract management firm. The first thing they ask me for was my "papers". They wanted a copy of my federal documentation form and insurance. My insurance needed to cover $300,000 liability. I had to sign a contract and they even had a hurricane plan form to fill out.
I have never encountered this in any other marina for a one-month stay. Has anyone experienced this in the any other Marina? Is this becoming common?

Re: Titusville marina

There are three marinas in Titusville, Florida. There is the City Municipal Marina, in the same basin is Westland, and a mile or two further south is Kennedy Point. Which one are you talking about?

Sorry. I was referring to the city marina.

Re: Titusville marina

Well, you picked the most expensive for starters. The City have always needed to cross their Tee’s etc., but I didn’t know they were run by a contractor.
Westland don’t need any of that stuff, just insurance.
Kennedy point is the cheapest, not as protected, but safe enough.
Take your pick.

Actually, Kennedy Point is more expensive than Titusville City. They are a Yacht Club, and you have to be a member to keep your boat there. They don't tell you that on their web site, but I went and ask. Besides, the entrance channel is only 5' and my boat draws 6'
Westland would be my first choice now, but they are usually full.
