Re: Thirty Days 'til I'm Outta Here !

UD, That deal fell through, never was a true deal anyway. This new deal is solid.

Wavewacker: This will be a 100% Cash deal. The seller is not getting a mortgage.
Also, I will be paying cash for my boat. Then I can get off the grid.

Unless you're an investor type, ya can't beat a cash deal! Pay the taxes and move aboard! Great, glad to hear it and good luck on your boat buying......

Cash is the bomb! And I'm excited for your trip thru Kemah. I see loads of boats there I would love to take a walk thru- but it's a long way from Vero Beach and I don't get to TX very often.

Re: Thirty Days 'til I'm Outta Here !

Not only cash but they are buying MOST of my furniture! Stuff I was going to donate to Goodwill they are paying me for. Paying more than I would have made if I held a garage sale for everything in my house! The rest can go to the dump for all I care!

I have a trailer to live in during the search. It won't be like I'm in a hotel every night. The costs at a trailer park will be about the same as a slip.

Re: Thirty Days 'til I'm Outta Here !

Nobody is going to believe this. My buyers agent called my agent today and said because of regulations regarding eminent domain they have to RAISE the offer by $25K! I'm going to let them have every stick of furniture in the house!
Sell the house, get mo money, and have a built in 100% garage sale to get rid of ALL my junk!

Life is either good, or I need to wake up.

If you're living the dream Don, you really don't want to wake up!

Wish we had a system here in Aus that made buyers throw more money at you!

Hopefully our plans are just a little behind yours

My agent has been in the business for 15 years and has never had an Eminent Domain sale before. She could not believe how this system is working.

The buyers are coming out good, too. They are getting some very good furniture, bunches of garden tools (May I never see a rose I have to care for again!) and other assorted stuff. Probably fetch me 3 to 4K in a good auction.

I'm calling in a dumpster for the rest. The most hated part of down sizing has been removed. The question "What will I do with all this junk?" has been answered.

Your last sentence was one I never thought would come, I'm AHEAD of someone getting off the grid! Good luck to you, it'll come, keep plugging at it.

Wow!!! That's really amazing. I was going to say "Only in California" but if it's eminent domain, I'm guessing it's a federal issue. Either way....yay you!!

Re: Thirty Days 'til I'm Outta Here !

It's being run by the state, but it's improvements to I-5, a federal highway, thatare causing it. I guess there is some federal money involved. And if you talk to someone that knows eminent domain you will find it makes sense. The way things are going it protects the Gvm't from fraud and the person being bought out from a low valuation by the gvm't.
