The top 20 liveaboard sailing blogs

Boats and Outboards has just published its "Top 20 liveaboard sailing blogs" list.

Some you may agree with, some you won't.

We managed to squeeze in their list but all of them make good reading and there may be some you have not heard of which are well worth reading.

I ponder the selection process. Personally, I'd rather read the "bottom 20" blogs, as they are probably more honest and instructive than the "the boat's afloat, and we're doing so well" blogs.

I take it you have not looked at the blogs then as few are like that.

Good link thanks. Nice to see Rebelheart on the list and update on them.

Correctomundo! I only glanced.

When I saw some smiling faces, my first thought was "I want to read about burning boats and 6-month hospital stays." Those are the types of blogs that get my blood roiling through the veins.

I think it is history you need my friends. Viking long boats tended to be burnt but the occupant was usually well past a six month stint in hospital.
I did have to pull out my own tooth and toenail on a passage recently (true).. does that count?

Re: The top 20 liveaboard sailing blogs

I love reading about others experience. Thanks for sharing these. I'll definitely take a look.

I hope no one minds me putting in a plug for my lowly sailboat blog (mountainsandseashore.blogspot.com). No burning boats or 6 month hospital stays but I try to be honest about the experience.

I'm surprised S/V Delos didn't make the list.

Delos seems to me more of a vlog top20. Their videos were fun to watch back when we had good internet.

Don't you love it when ignorant people chime in?

That really makes me doubt the list. I keep up with Charlotte's blog, at least (Eric wasn't updating for awhile) and while adorable, it isn't about sailing or living aboard.

It sure does, and more details would be nice. My previous posts were somewhat tongue-in-cheek, yet blogs and vlogs about how to have "fun in the sun" don't interest me much. I already know how to do that. I personally find the cruising stories about disasters and what led up to them far more instructive. But hey, that's just me.

I watched 1 or 2 of the S/V Delos vlogs and I had trouble staying awake. Unless one's goal is to live vicariously and never actually go sailing, I find little use in "Here's my blonde girlfriend steering the yacht topless. Isn't that cool?"

Ho hum.
