The Pumpout Boat Crashed into My Boat

As if we don't have enough minor issues to deal with...
Leak below mast
Sheaves are froze up
Head needs updated
Now the pumpout boat tore up my boat! Multiple bad scratches in the totally pristine gelcoat! Unbelievable.....
This boat is over thirty years old and had only one minor ding in the gelcoat and we just repainted the bottom and buffed the entire boat two months ago before we put her into the water..
They do pumpout twice a week and it has been fine until last week when there was a minor scratch so I added extra bumpers as a precaution...today they HIT my boat!

Re: The Pumpout Boat Crashed into My Boat

At least the pumpout boat didn't disintegrate near yours Can you imagine *that* disaster?
Sorry to hear about it, hope they are going to take care of this issue?

I am sure the marina will take care of us...it is just the principal of the matter.
And to top off my day just got home and one of the parrots has eaten the rubber thingy that is on one of the winches!
Need a beer or two

Newbie here dunno what it is called but it is the rubber part on the winch that runs the jib sheet on the port side (I think that is a sheet or is it a line?)

Here is the rub rail and toe rail. There is actually a piece chipped out of the toe rail, I took pics of the fibre glass damage but will have to upload from my computer.

Re: The Pumpout Boat Crashed into My Boat

I've been hit and hit other boats; it sucks on both sides of the fence. Any delivery captain who says he hasn't hit another vessel is lying to you.

I had a guy demolish my stern pushpit, about $12K in damage and I had to track him down myself since he tried to hide from it.

Re: The Pumpout Boat Crashed into My Boat

Its called a wincher, its blue rubber, right? They are an aftermarket add on and should be available from west marine or Defender. I think Footloose was making a joke regarding a load of crap.

Re: The Pumpout Boat Crashed into My Boat

'Rubber thingy' is an adapter to make your winches self-tailing. It's not essential to using the winch, but you'll need to learn to tail yourself (which is, basically, keeping tension on the slack side of the line so it doesn't slip on the barrel of the winch.)
