Stops along the Tombigbee?

Hello! Is anyone familiar with places to stop for provisions down the Tombigbee from Joe Wheeler State Park to Mobile Bay? Walking several miles or biking more is an option:-)

Most have cars for you to use for town runs.

Bobby's Fish Camp near Silas, AL may not look like much because it isn't, BUT, it has a fuel dock...most important in an area with so few.

The restaurant/convenience store served us an excellent catfish dinner caught fresh by the gentleman at the next table. It was my first catfish, quite sweet for an ugly species.

Many stops; Midway Marina, Columbus Marina and go to Hucks downtown for dinner, Visitors Center and Montgomery Snagboat at Bevill lock, Demopolis Kingfisher, and the famous Bobby's Fish Camp! Great catfish at Bobby's and fuel if you need it. Enjoy the solitude on the Tenn-Tom. It's like going back in time 100 years. Bobby's is a present day museum from the 1950's.

Thanks everyone for the great replies, they are most helpful. Sounds like Bobby's Fish Camp is a must stop! Thanks for posting the photos J Clark H356. I noticed your mast is down. We are planning to keep ours up. Any reason to rethink it? Our mast height is 45'.

Bridge clearance at normal pool is 52 feet. You will need to adjust up or down based on normal versus actual reservoir conditions. I took a Cabo Rico 38 down with just barely clearance, but we cleared them all and didn't even brush the antenna. I am 58.4 feet, so had no choice in my Hunter 356.

Be sure you know that you are 45 feet above the waterline, not just mast height from boat specs. My mast is 50 feet long end to end without lights, wind and antenna, add the rest for distance to water and wind, lights and antenna above the mast head and you get 58.4 feet.

You can use Active Captain, Bridge data from the Tenn-Tom charts, or if you will pm me with your email, I'll send you a spreadsheet in Excel I used for the Cabo Rico in 2007 that you can modify for your actual mast height above water. It has a link for getting normal pool information off the internet and and you can use it to know what the minimum clearance is. The posted clearance is to low steel and we didn't know for sure if it was to clear the lights that hang down or just the structure. We assumed structure and avoided getting our mast near the lights. We clear d them all, some seemed very close.
