Bathrooms and showers are decent. Costco, Home Depot etc are not far. Monthly rents are respectable.
Downsides are proximity to Oakland airport (a bit noisy) and the fact that this is again a limited situation. And finally getting in and out is bit tricky due to filling in of the marina and east bay.
We got in easily at mid tide and we are a 50' boat.
That is funny to me Victor. I grew up in San Leandro from 3 to 25 years old. Was there when they were building the marina and the smaller golf course (now they have a larger one). Not a sailor/boater at all when I was there.

We have traded places. We are now staying in Petersburg, AK for the winter!

Re: Staying temporarily helps/hinders SF marinas' liveaboard approval?

Ron, we almost spent the winter in AK. The choices were Cordova, Seward, Petersburg or Auke Bay. Each with their pluses and minuses. In the end we were so tired of rain in Prince William Sound we sailed across the Gulf of AK to Sitka just kept going till we got dry and warm again.

We hope to get to Baja by the late winter.
