Soapy Suds

Im looking for a soap that I can use aboard. Originally Dr. Bronners was my top choice as I have always used it for everything from dishes to laundry to my body. Its good for the planet and not harmful to me. However in recent research I've found that Good ol' Bronners and the Ocean don't seem to get along.

Can any one tell me of a natural all purpose soap that meshes well with salt water?
Thanks!

Re: Soapy Suds

I am also a fan of Dr. Bronners soap, but we use Joy dish detergent when bathing in salt water.

Help me understand your question. Are you seeking the most environmetlly friendly soap or the most effective soap for use in salt water?

Re: Soapy Suds

It's easy to get lost in the term "organic" as it has developed new and vague meanings. All soaps are long organic molecules that have an affinity for water on one end and an affinity for lipids, oils, waxes, grease, (non-polar molecules) on their other end; therefore, they allow water to mix with oily things and then rinse away.

So, if you want organic soap, it's all organic!

Now, if you define organic as being something that is not harmful to the environment you still have many choices, but with this use the term, "organic" loses any clear definition and is not a scientific term. Your best choices here are to look for soap without phosphates in the ingredients.

How about Johnson's Baby Shampoo?

Ii was also going to suggest baby shampoo for body and hair. Joy and Ivory are very drying on the skin, especially sun-parched hides like ours.

Re: Soapy Suds

Thank you so much for all of your replies, this has been a big help. Baby shampoo is a great idea, can you use it on dishes and to do laundry? Maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist.
I want something I can use for dishes, clothes, and myself that's harmless to my body and the environment that also doesn't turn into a slimy foam when mixed with salt water.

Thanks again and sorry to keep rewriting this question.
