fact.
because some kinds of weirdos ar e mentioned doesnot mean all out here are such. remember i DID say there are some decent folks out here as well.

so next time i will list all plus weavis. hahahahaha. that way you are specifically included. i thought i was including ye with the some decent people phrase, but i guess i was told off for that. oopsy. my error.

Your error was stating: the truism is real.... the men out cruising solo are
married
players--married or not
child molesters
stalkers
other criminals.
married and leaving wifee home .... many reasons for leaving wifee home.

there are some really good folks out here---many other types as well, one cannot ASSume the male cruiser is a decent person.

Adding SOME does not mitigate your feelings or intention of meaning to convey.

HOw about there are SOME players, child molesters, stalkers and criminals, but most men are OK. (with reference to the above blanket statement you made)

Men and women always have an interaction based on biology but that is different to being one of the above.

I dont get it. You want to discuss feminine issues regarding sailing and honesty and this pops up? What is the ration of child molesters in cities, or criminals or stalkers? What is the ratio in the boating community? Is there any need to attribute it to male solo sailors?

Ive had a stalker, 12 years of pain and misery and legal interaction.... Im a man so does it count? DO I look at all women and think stalker?

If you dont like someone, leave it at that but dont paint all men in the light you did above. Weirdos are everywhere..... its negative, unhelpful and demeaning... I dont believe you would recognise a criminal if you fell over him if he was charming.

Could be all the years as a nurse in US A&E departments that could have something to do with it..
Myself.. I find most men think all women are the same deep down.. and the same attitude to men exists in women..
Venus and Mars..
But I do feel we should be intelligent enough to sort the wheat from the chaff and make allowances for peoples pasts reflecting their present attitudes..
As for me being special..
Thank you.. its so rare to find someone who shares my opinion..

Come on everybody.
...there are limits and we all know that Zee pushed it....

I try to ignore Zee when she hacks up a bitter furball as there are many times, I just love her posts.

But when a large section of liberal society are globaly accusing the Male population of being sexual predators, you need to call out those extreme ones as Weaves did.

Those of use who would love and protect children with our lives, take exception to rabid statements from bitter people

Now, what is considered the perfect cruising boat for a single female solo sailor, with less than average upper body strength, than her male counterpart?

Could be. Myself as a common medical consultant dealing with war and rape and other inhuman atrocities am not affected enough to label a solo sailor as a naughty... my bad.

I have found that there are common traits in both sexes, and Mars and VEnus should apply only to those traits. The rest is personality.

Did you deal for another boat yet? Im seeing a few coming up for right money... not here in Spain but in the UK....

Whether from experience, socialization or education, zee hag feels that many men are predators of women and children. Unfortunately that is objectively true, wherever you feel "some" transitions to "many" percentage wise is the subjective part.

And she has the right to act and advise as she sees fit based on her view of the world.

Nobody has the right to not be offended. That right doesn't exist in any declaration I have ever read.

If you are offended it is your problem, and frankly lots of things offend lots of people.

I can walk into a bookshop and point out a number of books that I find very unattractive in what they say. But it doesn't occur to me to burn the bookshop down. If you don't like a book, read another book. If you start reading a book and you decide you don't like it, nobody is telling you to finish it.

Salman Rushdie
Sorry mate, your wrong. She called solo sailors child molesters and sexual predators, that is offensive and solo men sailors have a right to take offence.

Frame it how ever you choose but hate speech and mistruths are unacceptable, regardless which gender delivers them.

People need to be called out when they behave like this or that talk becomes acceptable, which it isn't.

Men are tall.

Not all men, is a given.

Best estimate is over 6% of Catholic priests are actual child rapists. Do you honestly think the percentage in the general male population is **lower**? In the solo cruising demographic?

Pretending the situation is anything less than an urgent crisis lets us sleep better at night

But also means less stringent oversight, that and fewer consequences increases the numbers.

My current lady has been referred to on here.. on more than one occasion as 'your bit of Portuguese squeeze'
Did I find it offensive.. Yes.
However I put it down to the simple fact that many men are insecure in themselves and feel the need to assert their machismo from time to time.. aka.. swing the dick..
Just another idiot to me..
During one of my 'Solo' periods I met and dated a lady in the states who was a skilled carpenter and had worked on building sites and.. at work was as hairy assed as any male site worker.. but off site she was as feminine as any woman can be.
Helped her move her machinery down to NC from Vermont.. wood turners etc.. she made cedar strip canoes and furniture and was a web designer on the side.
However her time spent in a 'Mans World' had to a large extent flavoured her view on men.. keep at arms length till a known quantity.
Personally I find men confrontational and females conversational.. and I'd rather make love than war..
Comments like.. 'God.. that jaw is just so tempting to hit and see if you go down..!!!' gets boring after the 1000th time.

NO.

But I do think 94% of men are labeled incorrectly. Political correctness means that the majority suffer for the minority. MOST men love children and will die for them.

Let us not forget that.

Zee I am not just a dr. I am a consultant. I specialised in emergency medicine for 7 years internationally and worked with surgical teams and the Rape Crisis centre in the UK for 15 years. I think we both have had our fill of WHAT the results can be in the event of an actuality.

I still dont view all women as victims or all men as predators.

When we become specialists we work within the confines of patients with the problem of whatever the speciality is. We see the worst. BUt there is a world out there where the worst is not seen and I thank God for that.

It is best not to label every solo male sailor as a sexual predator, child abuser, criminal or all round bad guy. You did that. Not good.

Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

Elizabethan 23 is a nice boat. I would find it a little on the cramped size for more than one person, and even for one, in my opinion is a touch small for long distances. Can it be done? oh yes easily, its just not as pleasant a sail as 4 foot more in the length..

I have set my minimum length as 27 foot, and a Cat as well. Im currently chumming around in a much larger Cat and afraid I might get used to it.

I love the Centaur back in the UK but the sedate passage making time gets to me on occasion.

The Elizabethan is a lovely vessel. I guess you know what you want to do with it...

Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

When I was looking for a Cat a few years ago, The salesman was telling me that "woman like a tub, women like this, women like that" and he was steering me to a particular craft.

I took a couple of female friends the next day to look at it... and they both hated the tub, hated the galley, hated everything he said that women liked...

SO my advice to men, is to take the particular woman in question and get HER opinion rather than a generalisation..
