Singer 20u "Professional" sewing machine

I asked this on another thread but replies forgot my first Q..

My friend is clearing the family boat after his dad passed away and he has a Singer 20u "Professional" aboard he wants to see go. Its a manual one, no motor, you pedal the big metal board with your foot to make it go.

Are there suitable electric 240v or 12 v motors available for this? If yes, would it be "plug n play to install one?

Machine looks like 50 years old.

Re: Singer 20u "Professional" sewing machine

I found some motors here:
Industrial Sewing Machine Clutch, Servo, and Brushless Servo Motors

I don't have a photo available just now but the Singer has some kind of service door in the back; anyone knows if a suitable motor could be installed there?
(link here for a similar model showing the door):

Furthermore,
apparently motors for this model apparently locate under the machine just like here:
Amazon.com: SINGER 20U109 Complete Industrial Commercial-Grade ZigZag and Straight-Stitch Sewing Machine: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

but in my opinion this type of setup becomes too bulky and space consuming in a sailboat. I would really like to see a more compact design, so anyone knows if a suitable motor can be mounted in a more compact manner to this machine??

Another Q about motors, am I correct to say that clutch type motors can be described as " on/off high speed motors", and servo motors are more for slow speed detailed work when accuracy is needed?

Pardon me but I'm new to this but need a sewing machine!

My LSZ weighs 53 lbs and is a bit of pita to use on the boat. I mostly use it on a folding table on the dock. Inside the boat I prefer my 118 Viking.

The Singer 20U looks to be a good machine for a shop but a lot of machine for the boat.

Edit.
I bought the Sailrite when the Viking didn't have the umph for a sail mod a few months ago.
