Seeking Source for Kerosene Burners

Not sure this is the right place to ask this, but would appreciate it if anyone knows of suppliers of kerosene burners at a reasonable cost.

I have a Taylors stove and I'm told the Portuguese manufacturer of the burners I now have has gone out of business.

cheers and thanks.

Google locates some in India

Stove Burner- Kerosene Stove Burners, Wholesale Kerosene Stoves and Burners, 1,2,3,4, Burners for Kerosene Stoves

I don't know anything about this company, I have a kerosene stove but have a complete set of spare burners. You can probably find them on Ebay at times.

I had an ebay search going for quite a while. Only once did I get a hit and that was for a complete cooker in Dartmouth, NS.

I too would like to find a US source.

Blakes Lavac Taylor has spares kits. I presume you can order from them in England.

Other than that you could try St Brendans Isle, the mail forwarding people. They are the US distributor for Lavac toilets, of Blakes, Taylor, Lavac, so maybe they can source them.

Let me know, I would buy one or two myself.

Also, my boats PO bought a couple of Portugese units. I tried to put one in this summer and the fitting was different. The treads were the same but the bottom of the male fitting extended down with about a 1/4 of unthreaded body that held the burner unit too high.

Also try this source in England. They say a complete burner is L70 or about $100.

Thanks for the replies. Friend who reads German pointed me to Stuga-Cabana <http://www.hytta.de>. He says what my stove needs is a "Regulierbrenner Optimus", part #SPO-3868. At 59 euros not dirt cheap like the old Portuguese-made burners, but some other prices that I have been quoted lately have curled my toes, so what can you do?

Re hpeer's post, I have purchased kero burner spares from base-camp in the UK, and the service was excellent.

we have been trying to get replacement burners for a heater as well. Base camp in UK seems a likely spot although their run of burners we need failed so we are awaiting their next run. Good luck and let us know if you find anything closer to home.
Cheers

There seem to be plenty of pressure kerosene burners manufactured in India.I wonder why they are not being used on boat stoves.

We had an ORIGO spirit stove for 20 years and would have nothing else.
Search Google for ORIGO

I think that's for an entire primus stove. If you look at the "spares" and see if you can decode it.

My wife is going over there in a month to visit her sister. Maybe I can turn it into a parts run.

jimbim and hpeer:

if in US try www.defender.com. they stopped carrying but have one extended cruise kit left on special buy. Call them direct and they will probably "deal" with you to get rid of it. I bought several last summer.

Don't you just "luv" your cooker?

THis may be one of several replies as I have been trying to get this through. Just joined so I could answer your call. Will have to get over to meet & greet next.

Re: Seeking Source for Kerosene Burners

Well I'm stuffed. I read about the new Hanse burners and wanted to buy a couple.

Toplicht is under some order to not sell them to the USA.

Sparesmarine sold the last 2 a couple of hours before I ordered. Won't be getting anymore because of markup structure.

St Brendan's Isle doesn't seem to acknowledge they are a distributor.

Sea Sure does t appear to ship overseas.

Could not find the link to these burners in Taylor's site.

In Bahamas and Internet is really poor the last few weeks. Seems like a wide spread issue. Makes searching very tough and time consuming.

Any ideas?????

Re: Seeking Source for Kerosene Burners

BTW, I had bought a couple of "new improved" Taylor burners. They were very heavy, really required a torch to get going, and if turned to simmer would get so cold they would not atomize properly. Put old burners back in. Other than that I loved them.

I understand that Taylor now uses the new Hanse burners in their new stoves. 2nd hand info.

Re: Seeking Source for Kerosene Burners

I recently purchased three Hanse burners from Base Camp UK. They are excellent quality. No more soot. Don't touch any from India (junk).
