Sassafras River, MD Marinas

Does anyone have any info on the marina's in this area? Looking at Georgetown Yacht Basin, Skipjack Cove off hwy 213. Do they allow live aboards? Any issues with a larger sailboat, around 50ft?

Thanks!

Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't the best most efficient way to get accurate, up to date information that pertains to your situation be to just call them and ask these questions? That way you know it is a true answer, and not a guess by a third party with no interest in your situation.

Georgetown Yacht Basin
14020 Augustine Herman Highway
Georgetown, MD 21930

Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort

Re: Sassafras River, MD marina's

MJ,
Yes, you are missing something. For example...Say you decide to move to a new job across the country and you think you may have found a nice subdivision in which to live. You would of course call the developer and ask all the normal questions and get all the normal best case answers, all exactly correct. Now, it just so happens you find out a friend of yours happens to live in the same subdivision, wouldn't you ask them the same questions and a few more? Since you know your friend has kids the same age as yours, and the same size cars and makes about the same money and has generally the same interest and lifestyle, it would be nice and very reassuring if that friend said stuff like, "yes great place to live, kids love the school, easy to back out on the street, my wife loves the pool boy". Things like that you will not get from the 20 yr old working behind the desk or answering the phone. It would, however, be sort of a bummer if your friend said, "hey dude here is the number for the front office at the country club, why don't you just call them and ask all these stupid questions".
SO my fault, maybe I should have phrased the question differently. Here goes again, We are considering living aboard in this area of MD, with kids in a 55 to 60 ft sail boat. We are curious if anyone out there in CF land has any experience with this in this area. Specifically schools, taxes, and general community info along with any tidbits about the 3 marinas here as well. Would you recommend any of them over the others and why?

Thank you ShaunJ for the steer.

There are marinas that will tell you "no liveaboards" on the phone, but give a different answer when you show up. Asking around avoids the issue of showing up.

They could have answered the question when you first posted it, instead of some BS non answer.
