s/v Windigo Found

Some of you may remember, or even know Steve & Tania from s/v Windigo, which they abandoned. Windigo has now been found, but sadly, it's not all good news.

Very sad story. And such a lovely boat.

Boy, even if it hadn't been looted, I wonder how much salvage value that would have anyway. I watched the New South Wales helicopter video when the boat was found, very rough shape.

Re: s/v Windigo Found

Similar thing happened on east coast us a few years ago. Old guy moving his 33' alloy boat down coast from Nova Scotia. Got in a bit of a blow, CG came out to rescue him. He got in the basket because he thought something was wrong ashore. Otherwise he was tired but ok. Someone on shore had reported a boat in trouble, he didn't call.

Anyway, boat floated back to Nova Scotia and beached unharmed, but was completely stripped right away.

Don't know final outcome.
