Good for you Nick! Glad to see you got the boat! Talking Heads was one of my favorites too. Good old guys with good old boats! Nothing better.

Thanks Don! I certainly have no regrets thus far, I am still ecstatic to have it.

Here is another great song to go with that.

I always thought they were referring to "Mayan" in that song, beautiful schooner that I believe was Crosby's... not the boat shown in the vid. Still a nice boat!
Ah my memory is right, she was down the dock from me for all the 10 years I was in SB

Reference to mayan I don't know but yes she was Davids until last fall when he finally sold her. Also the lyrics are more literal than most people realise.
The part about calling from a bar in Avalon refers to Avalon Panama

All the time she was there I never got to meet David Crosby! Never saw her go out either. Interesting, and all this time I thought it was referring to Catalina!

Actually the line " making for the trades on the outside ". Is referring to the Catalina islands.

HA! Me too! That and when my dad said he wanted to row a dory down the California coast and I got the idea it would be a hell of a lot easier to sail down.
