Over winter for USD150 per month in the Red Sea

We've been in Turkey for 3 winters now and each one has got wetter ((bl@@dy global warming?). Anyway, we've decided that we really must move on, preferably to somewhere hot.

The current decision is to join the Vasco Da Gama rally in October. It'll take us through Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen, Oman and ending in April 2010 in India.

Plan B, should it prove too scary to wend our way through the pirates and civil war-torn countries off the East African coast, is to over-winter in the Red Sea, basing ourselves in Egypt. Investigations have yielded Abu Tig marina, part of the El Gouna complex. They are offering a berth for USD150 per month for the rest of 2009. I believe prices will go up in January 2010, but I guess everything's negotiable... I've been talking to Andrea Brum, who's email address is: info@abutig-marina.com

The cost of heading down the Suez Canal includes a return trip if undertaken within 6 months. Sounds good to me. If we don't make the rally I guess we'll be diving in the Red Sea next winter. Beats listening to the rain in Turkey.

That’s cheap.
Let me know if you need to stop in Yemen...I live in the north but get to Aden very often.
Might be able to help with some wheels.
