New to forum - question for live aboard classified

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hello and ask a question if I may.

First, HI ALL! Been in love with the sea since the Navy. Missed a recent opportunity in the Dominican Rep. for purchase, so still looking. I take my time, and until the situation is ripe, my circumstance is:

I live in Florida and Ecuador and was looking for a live aboard in the vicinity of FLL or MIA and as far south to Key Largo. There really isn't much available on craigslist and after contacting some brokers they didn't return the calls. I consult mainly on the east coast and midwest, so eastern side of Fl is the choice for ease of use with air travel.

Maybe I am daft, (well, yes, sometimes.. BUT), I would think someone would not mind making money on something they are not using that much. Or if someone were selling a higher priced boat they might want to make a deal on a lease while selling.

Thanks for suffering my post. Thanks in advance for your time.

Why are you only looking at Craigslist? There are any number of online boat/yacht websites. Two of the biggest are yachtworld.com and boattraderonline.com.
What exactly are you looking for? Budget? Someone here just might know a boat that fits your needs.
As far as leasing a boat....that's going to be iffy at best.

Re: New to forum - question for live aboard classified

Hi Chuck34,

Sorry to not be clear. I am actively looking to purchase a boat. Between Panama and Ecuador due to my location.

I am looking for a live aboard in Florida due to my requirements of the business travel. If I can make a deal in Florida great, but I take my time. I lost a sale recently in the DR because I didn't trust the surveyor.

Florida: Live aboard looking to make this happen asap. I don't want to rent a house.

Ecuador/West Coast Purchase; that is in underway and ongoing. But on my schedule, no rush, waiting for the right situation.

Thanks.

What was your question?

To buy, I agree with Chuck34. I found my boat on yachtworld.com.

I would be very surprised if you could get a lease to live on someone else's yacht. I have seen them on Airbnb.com, but just for nightly rental.
