pirate Re: Need a New Name!

Saw a boat in the W.Indies that had what I thought was a really great name....
The guy sailed solo and had a 'Lab' or a 'Goldie'... cannot remember which...
'BreakfastsinBed'

Re: Need a New Name!

I thought 'Valdari' would be good, from the Happy Wanderer song we all had to sing in school. I still like it.

But it drives my partner mad because the tune sticks in her brain for days afterward.

Apparently valdera -ha-ha-ha was the wrong response

With today’s economy I think “Seabiscuit” would be an inspirational name

We met some people this weekend who had named their boat "Seabiscuit". It is a great name. Lots of folks buy and sell boats trying to end up with their ideal "Last Boat". We have heard of, but haven't seen "Last Boat 3".

We both have been through alot of change in the past few years and this has always been my dream (Sea Change) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_change
Here are my suggestions.

Re: Need a New Name!

You do know about getting all old documents with the old name off the boat and ALL pic's with the old name off the boat as well, remove all log books with the old name and anything else bearing the old name. It took about a week for us to get our yacht ready for the denaming and then we had to do the denaming cerimony twice because we kept finding receites with the old name. With all evidence of the old name off the boat your ready for lots of libation given to the 4 winds and yourself and of course real Virgin Pee for the base of the mast to wipe away all past sins of the old name is in order. Doing the christing of the virgin boat with a new name is easier except to get live musiciations singing Sea Chanty's ( we had 2 singers) and the best bubbly you can afford ( or the flavor you like, even perscription herbs will do really good).
'Best of Luck' ( hay that would be a great name ) remember a good name is easy for someone on the other end of the VHF radio to understand and spell.

LOVE all the suggestions! Yes we know about removing everything with the old name and the new naming ceremonies. We spent all weekend digging all over the boat removing stuff with the old name on it

Re: Need a New Name!

If it doesn't come when you call it, why name it?
