Thumbs up Re: Moving aboard Jan 5th

Congrats Dearmstr. I will be following suit down under on my 50 ft ketch very soon. I am looking forward to the live-aboard lifestyle as I am sure you are too.

Good luck and fair seas

Great ! Have you checked the fuel tank(s): "As with many of the Baba/Panda/Tashiba boats built by Ta Shing, the Tashiba 36 has black iron fuel tanks which have proven susceptible to corrosion, these tanks have been replaced in many boat but it’s worth checking out. Prices for the Tashiba 36 has remained quite high and generally not many come up on the used market. As of 2010, the asking price is in the range of: $130k-$160k USD" Also, what will be your home port ? Do you have a heater onboard (Not electric that needs a marina)? Also, the dodger seems to be too small to provide a protected area when you have to keep watch in bad weather (Forget the bimini offshore!)
Cheers !

Re: Moving aboard Jan 5th

I did extensive research before looking at the boat. One of the things I requested of the surveyor was to look at the iron tanks. The showed no signs of corrosion. The owners have taken excellent care of her. We were extremely lucky to find her before anybody else.

Re: Moving aboard Jan 5th

HI!

I am Mr. Dearmstr.

Just thought I'd pop in and say that all is well and we are afloat in the marina here in town.

Enjoy!
