The boat I'm selling is fine, despite the contradicting opinion of the last 3 surveyors.

Re: Most frequent lie encountered while cruising

Not a lie, they just don't know any better.
I just bought this boat and its all ready to go. I read a book and just need a second hand, easy trip. Sure the chart plotter is up to date and has all the detailed charts. I can go 6 knots so we can do 400 miles in just a few days. Yes the refer works and of course the fuel is clean, I just topped it off.

And then there is the inimitable Aussie lie, applicable in so very many situations:

"No worries, mate, She'll be right!"

Since you’re speaking writing in English, may we take it that you’re lying?

Re: Most frequent lie encountered while cruising

I found a lot of marina Wi-Fi systems did not live up to my expectations. I'm not sure that was a "lie", the person telling me that they had Wi-Fi probably never tried to use it.

It was nasty. The seas were 8 - 10 feet.

Re: Most frequent lie encountered while cruising

That you need a modern, 40+foot new boat.

That you need an electric windlass, a big outboard, multiple heads, inboard shower, a watermaker, a big freezer... or any number of other "must haves."

This, and the latest weather forecast ... always seems to be a lie ;-)
