That sounds great. Can you be more specific about the type of mint? Any problem with customs?

I will try the mint but I think the best suggestion is to invite others aboard who are more attractive the the little gits.

Right, Nostradamus,

Jim refers to me as his sacrificial anode. Ha. Ha. Not so funny if you're the only one being bitten. And downright dangerous some places.

It's way better to just avoid getting bitten by practicising the necessary clothing and extremity protection....IMO

If you spent your childhood in bug-infested areas, it appears that your immunity is pretty high. I am not 100% sure about this but anecdotally it seems to be the case. I have no problem but my wife cops it like Ann.

So bad luck now that you are an adult and suffer! Good luck if you were a tropical kid!! Call your parents and blame them or thank them for your childhood geography!!

I never notice the bites until about 48 hours, later then they inch. I use a cream which dulls it then it goes away next day

I was turned onto this trick in Alaska: Hang some clothes dryer sheets around the cabin (tent). It makes things smell better & dissuades the mozzies.

I have been bitten my entire life living in the northern USA. I am totally immune up here. Zero after effects from having drops of blood extracted by mosquitos.

Passing through the Caribbean, each bite by one of those southern mosquitos raised a nice red welt that lasted for 3 or 4 days. It made me crazy to get bitten. At one point, the next day after landfall from the Canaries, I had one welt per sq cm over a quarter of my body. That was learning the hard way.

As much as I hate wearing pants or being coated in ultrathon, it beats getting bitten by a mile.

I have found that drinking a couple of glasses of scotch whiskey really helps. They still bite the hell out of you but you don't give a damn.
