maybe quarterly would help folks more - just my opinion
Noted, but you read the thread so ...................... it's a Yes vote. I do the monthly as that's as long as I can remember the details of what happened.

The long term total type view picture is also noted and reminds me that I didn't put the spreadsheet on the thread like normal. so here it is

Re: Month 37 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Thanks for this - I bought a 2014 Leopard 44 catamaran 14 months ago and here is my tally;

Ongoing average month = $1610. This includes dockage, insurance, fuel, electricity, subscriptions like Boat US, Windfinder, etc. We have been at marinas most of the time.

Maintenance average month = $506. This includes bottom cleaning, optional upgrades and replacements

Repair average month = $292

Total average month = $2407

We are still working and living on the boat for just six months, so there is much more in air travel, other travel etc. and I didn't keep track of detailed categories like food, entertainment etc. We were in the FL Keys for most of the winter and in SC for the summer.

You made me sign in. I vote yes, it gives us a rough guide for planning our escape.
Our boat is getting a slow refit, so when we cast off I hope that we replaced or repaired everything that could be a problem. A lot less places to stop along the west coast than the east coast. Anybody want a Isuzu 3AB1 going to be pulling it this winter.

I don't really read it as one month does me no good. After 12 years out and keeping track for the last 10 years we know the huge variations month to month. We live on Social Security and until recently did a good job of that until some major upgrades hit me and I had to tap the 401k - but that was after 8 years of ss only - and looking at our overall we know that we can vary our costs using inland travel and stops

So stop reading it and posting on it. And it isn't just one month, I normally attach the spreadsheet each time with it that shows from the start. Besides it doesn't do YOU any good at all by now. I read and got a lot of useful info from your past postings of your spreadsheet and this is my way of playing it forward. But I guess I don't understand why you feel it is some kind of your way only of reporting the costs, or why it seems a competition to you to make me change how I want to report MY expenses and costs.

Re: Month 37 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Thanks for the posts. Helps me set date for departure.

Unfortunately, there is always that one person in the fast lane that is driving under the speed limit while yelling at everyone that passes him on the right.

I can say one thing, I am thankful that one individual isn't in my life full time. Can you imagine how miserable?

I am very grateful for you taking the time to post your expenses.

One more yes vote from an app user.

But I still want Australian data. [emoji6]

I didn’t vote because I didn’t see the point of a one answer poll. It’s good info for some, especially annual data. Cheers
