Month 32 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
Yea, under budget this month!!! First time ever under $2k/mo., which just shows that if you overspend month after month there will become a time when your wallet needs a little rest.
Traveled from Boot Key/Marathon FL down to Dry Tortugas, then up to Sarasota Fl where I’m going to stay for a month to do “stuff”.
Did grocery, beer and supply runs as normal.
Nothing broke on the boat this month (yea) and it didn’t need any semi expense maintenance. Sold my rigging tension gauge and that was more than what I spend on the other stuff so “the boat” this month generated money back.
Did a lot of “dining and drinking” out. I think the most expense was like $75 as lots of times it was to just get out of the afternoon heat. I notice on the spreadsheet that we spend about the same each month on “food” plus “dining” each month, just that the amount in each vary.
Marina was for stays on mooring balls in Marathon and Fort Myers Beach.
The total expenses were $ 1,969.72. Cost breakdown as follows for planners and hecklers:
Food, soda, alcohol, clothing, sundries - $ 736.23
Boat upgrades, repairs, maintenance - $ -103.00
Fuel (diesel, gas, propane) - $ 74.09
Dining and drinking out - $ 627.39
Entertainment - $ 157.72
Communication, storage, shipping - $ 112.08
Fees – $ -77.67
Marina - $ 338.13
Electric - $ 0
Medical - $ 0
Transportation - $ 24
Gifts - $ 46.14
Water - $ 0
Registration - $ 0
Insurance - $ 0

I was going to say that you saved money, cause there is no where to spend it in the Dry Tortugas.
But I noticed you still spent more than $600 going out to eat, so I guess you didn’t stay there long.

Not a lot of views so I guess people have cruising budgets figured out and/or are losing interest. Haven't even had a good thread hecker in months and I think I semi miss those except for having to watch crossing the line in the snow.

You're frivolous and wasteful. I could have easily done the same for $1966.32. You're such a spend-thrift.
Better?

You're doing it wrong. You need to take about 70% off the sundries intake, pal!
Oh, yeah, I'ma troll! [emoji857]

Re: Month 32 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
The payback on a record low budget month is ......... a generator seawater leak. Maybe it’s on the bottom hose, but I have feeling it’s the heat exchanger

Uh oh. Maybe it’ll be an easy fix. Maybe you could just slap some chewing gum on it.
