Month 28 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
I don’t understand, killed the Cat?
I’m thinking maybe buy the paint and apply myself later.
Spread out the costs.

Are you sure you're getting enough to eat and drink? Budget looks a little thin.

Lots of street people here and they have been teaching me to pan handle, and I’m a quick learner. So I’m going to be ok I think.

Re: Month 28 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
We just put out our expenses for the past 10 years. And like you this year - not month - year - was an OUCH --
we have averaged about $3k since we started but last year we doubled it. Major engine overhaul, new genny, major change out of old parts - pm issues, get them before they fail, and a lot of travel inland and back to the USA -
But then we were getting the boat ready for another pond crossing and we want her in as best condition as possible.
If you are out here long enough someplace along the line you will get one of those years.

Thanks again SB- always helpful information.
Your insurance looks reasonable. Is that just liability?

No it’s a full agreed value policy

You must have the hurricane restriction, North of NC until Nov. or something like that?
We get hammered here on Hurricane coverage. Hopefully, when I retire (soon) I can run North or South to stay out of the red zone. This should help reduce that coverage.

I don’t but if below Georgia and damaged by a named storm my deductible becomes 10%

That "red zone" depends on your company. When we first got SoulMates we were in Miami and paid a lot for insurance. Once we set out cruising our insurance went down a lot - maybe half. But saying that we had to be north of Morehead City NC and boy the minute the date changed and we could head south we did and it was a cold ride for the first few days.
We did the EC of the USA 3 times spending the winter in the Bahamas and the summer heading north along the USA - great rides.

Re: Month 28 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
With 4 days left in this months period I could report that it looks that the month's costs will be about $2500. But this would be an example of the "not counting" method of how much it costs to cruise because my checkbook is going to say it cost about $5600.
I sure wish I could only pay for the "not counting" items.

Yes, I do think going by what the checkbook says is most helpful to others, even if it’s painful for us.
BTW, you were right about the Bahamas. We’re on track for our lowest month ever barring any unpleasant surprises.
