Month 24 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Under budget this month again and that makes 5 months in a row! This month we traveled from New Rockland ME to Port Washington NY, which makes about 200 miles from where we started 24 months ago.

Boat costs were fairly low and about half was replacing the propane regulator and hose because the hose had a leak and I couldn’t get it unscrewed from the regulator. Other than that, it was general things like oil etc.

Marina costs were for 5 days of moorings along the way. 2 of those had such great internet on the wifi that I almost called it entertainment.

Did a few good grocery and beer runs as normal. Dined out about the normal amount as part of our “treats” and sightseeing in places.

Overall, we just moved along and are waiting a weather window to go down the New Jersey coast.

The total expenses were $ 2,598.03. Cost breakdown as follows for planners and hecklers:

Food, soda, alcohol, clothing, sundries - $ 834.62
Boat upgrades, repairs, maintenance - $ 303.71
Fuel (diesel, gas, propane) - $ 198.61
Dining out - $ 909.72
Entertainment - $ 86.83
Communication, storage, shipping - $ 96.10
Fees – $ -30.10
Marina - $ 142.00
Electric - $ 0
Medical - $ 20.19
Transportation - $ 36.26
Gifts - $ 0

Sitting here in Annapolis after not getting off the boat for 6 days and 17 hours. That means we are way behind in spending money and are trying to make up the tall fall.

With 2 days to go this month I’m waaaay under budget. I’m planning on stopping in Carolina Beach in two days and there’s bars and resesturants there.

I wonder if my liver and stomach are up to the challenge.
