New mattress protectors feel like soft material but stop moisture vapour getting in. Very comfy to sleep on.

Hypervent works for us. Before we fitted it we had to throw a foam mattress away after about 3 months living aboard. It was saturated.

The new mattress is still great after about 4 1/2 years.
